Abington CC is a small cricket club with a League and Friendly XI. The Cricket Club in its current guise has been in existence since the 1970s when Abington Park was the home of the club in the Town Leagues, however with the closure of these Leagues the need for a new ground arose and the club has taken on a somewhat nomadic existence with Great Billing, St Andrews, Obelisek, Moulton, Guilsborough and most recently Wootton providing our home ground. This year sees us move to the picturesque setting of Boughton Village, just outside Northampton town itself, somewhere we hope can make our home for the foreseeable future.

It is important to the club that we remain true to our original roots of Abington, the club crest is taken from the coat of Arms of the Thursby family, who, from 1669 to 1841 owned the Park and Abington Abbey. As a club we are looking to engage more with local communities in Northampton, we see this as vital to help establish the clubs future in terms of both personnel and financially.

We are actively seeking to recruit new players to the club, the only criteria is that you are enthusiastic. We would also welcome anyone that would like to get involved with sponsorship or fund raising at the club. We are hoping this is the start of the latest chapter at the club, one that will see us grow and secure our long term future. We also hope it is the start of the road towards our own home.
